Overview

Piping Rock Equestrian Center runs scenic guided trail rides in the Sierra Nevada near Truckee, California, five minutes from downtown and about 30 minutes from Reno. Rides range from a 50-minute beginner loop through Jeffrey pines to longer routes reaching Prosser Reservoir, priced from $75 to $250, with a one-wrangler-to-four-rider ratio for a less crowded feel. The center is open April through November and also runs summer horse camps, a Tahoe Horse Kids lesson program, boarding, and training.
