Overview

Wailea Horseback Adventure carries riders on a two-and-a-half-hour paniolo-style trail ride through the open rangeland and private trails of Umauma Falls in Hakalau, Hawaii, about twenty minutes north of Hilo. The ride pairs an hour and three-quarters in the saddle with a forty-five-minute break at the base of Umauma Falls, where guests can swim and paddleboard in the cold river below the falls. Run by a Big Island family with more than thirty years of trail-riding experience, it welcomes riders eight and up under a 225-pound limit.
